Accounts Assistant Manager
Location - Henley on Thames
Puro Associates is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant Manager with an innovative and forward-thinking accountancy firm. This firm delivers top-tier accountancy and tax advisory services to a wide range of clients, including SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, and large multinational corporations.
They are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Accounts Assistant Manager to join their team and play a key role in managing client relationships, reviewing financial statements, and providing expert tax and accounting guidance. Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including reviewing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders, ensuring they are ready for senior management review.
- Oversee and review corporation tax computations and returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly VAT returns under various VAT schemes.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts, ensuring the highest standards.
- Communicate directly with clients to resolve technical issues and offer guidance on accounting software.
- Assist with the development and mentoring of junior team members and help manage team workflow.
- Deliver exceptional service to clients and maintain strong relationships.
- Support the Partners with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Experience & Skills:
- ACA/ACCA qualified, with 1-2 years post-qualification experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience working in a practice environment.
- In-depth understanding of UK GAAP and FRS 102.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as CCH, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Alphatax (experience with these is advantageous but not essential).
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain client connections.
- A hands-on and diligent approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A strong team player with a proactive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and handling competing priorities.
