The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will work closely with the wider accounts team and support a range of clients across different sectors.

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Assisting with bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Preparing and submitting self-assessment tax returns
• Processing purchase and sales invoices
• Bank reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate accounting records
• Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
• Liaising with clients and responding to queries
• Supporting the wider practice team with general accounting duties

Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Experienced in accounts and bookkeeping
• Confident using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel
• Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
• A strong communicator with good attention to detail
• Client-focused and professional
• Keen to develop their accounting knowledge and career
