Puro Associates are supporting a well-established accountancy firm with the appointment of an Accounts & Client Manager.
This is a varied role within a busy practice, offering exposure to a broad range of client work. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their technical knowledge, build strong client relationships and take on increasing responsibility over time.
The Role
You'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of client work, with exposure across accounts, tax, VAT and management reporting. The role would suit someone who enjoys looking beyond the numbers, identifying issues and working directly with clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including cross-border VAT matters
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts
- Reviewing balance sheet accounts, reconciliations and year-end adjustments
- Investigating unusual balances and significant year-on-year movements
- Reviewing debtors, creditors, fixed assets, loans and supporting records
- Identifying accounting, tax and cash-flow issues
- Discussing findings and recommendations directly with clients
- Managing client queries and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting the use and development of digital accounting processes
- Taking increasing ownership of client work as your experience develops
About You
We're looking for someone who is upbeat, vivacious and enjoys working with people, alongside having a strong grounding in accounting.
You could be part-qualified and still working towards your AAT, ACA or ACCA, or qualified by experience with a solid background in practice.
You'll ideally have:
- A strong grounding of accountancy practice experience
- Good technical knowledge across accounts and tax
- Strong attention to detail
- The confidence to review and challenge figures where appropriate
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach to your work
- The ability to manage deadlines and take ownership
- A friendly, positive and client-focused personality
