Accounts Technician – Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Ashbourne, Co. Meath
Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm (Mon–Thurs), 8:30am to 2:30pm (Fri) – Flexible start/finish times
Remote Work: Option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

My client is a long-established chartered accountancy practice. With more than 30 years of experience, they provide a broad spectrum of accounting services to a varied client base across multiple industries. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare working papers and financial statements in line with relevant standards and internal procedures
- Produce quarterly or bi-annual management accounts for a select group of clients
- Complete and file VAT, VAT RTD, and RCT returns
- Draft year-end files
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Handle client queries professionally and efficiently
- Operate independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Carry out ad hoc tasks as required by the business
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a busy accountancy practice
- Accounting Technician or IPASS certified (not a necessity)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and manage workload independently
- Comfortable working under time constraints and prioritising effectively
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate level or above)
- Experience using Sage Accounts
- Familiarity with accounts production software such as CCH or similar
