Job Title: Bookkeeper (Hospitality Sector Experience Preferred)
Location: Slane, Co Meath
We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with strong IT skills and a solid background in producing monthly management accounts. Previous experience in the hospitality industry would be highly beneficial.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for someone who can take initiative and work independently in a busy office environment, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. You will be responsible for bookkeeping across a group of independently operated companies, with some overlapping functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts
- Support directors in financial planning and budgeting
- Identify areas for cost savings and operational improvements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Main Duties Include:
- Data entry and bank reconciliations
- Invoicing and cash management
- Preparing and filing VAT and PAYE returns
- Monitoring budgets and reporting on variances
- Opening and maintaining supplier accounts
- Communicating with suppliers and internal managers
- Reviewing staff hours with management in line with budgets
- General administrative tasks as required
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping role
- Proficiency with Sage or similar accounting software
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Familiarity with downloading and reconciling reports from credit card terminals and online booking platforms
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Strong verbal communication skills
