Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice
Location: Blackrock, Dublin
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
About the Role
An established accountancy practice based in Blackrock is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated bookkeeping professional who enjoys working with a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting clients with their financial and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities

  • Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
  • Processing sales invoices, purchase invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash flow records
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Assisting with payroll processing and related Revenue submissions
  • Reconciling creditor and debtor accounts
  • Maintaining general ledgers and journals
  • Preparing management accounts and financial reports for clients
  • Assisting accountants with month-end and year-end procedures
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and gather financial information
  • Ensuring all records are maintained accurately and in line with compliance requirements
  • Supporting the wider practice team with ad hoc finance and administration tasks

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial processes
  • Experience preparing VAT returns and bank reconciliations
  • Familiarity with payroll processing would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or Surf Accounts
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Relevant bookkeeping, accounting technician, or finance qualification desirable
