Fee Earner – Injury & Criminal Injuries Compensation

Location: Hybrid / Regional Offices (flexible working supported)
Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience + performance bonus
Contract: Full-time (flexible hours / flexitime available)
The Role
Puro Associates are recruiting for an established and reputable personal injury practice seeking a Fee Earner to manage a varied caseload of personal injury and Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) matters from inception to conclusion. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality legal advice, maintain excellent client care standards, and contribute to the continued success of the team.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage personal injury and CICA claims, including drafting pleadings, statements, schedules of loss, applications, reviews, and appeals.
  • Provide clear and practical advice to clients on legal options, funding, and costs (CFA, ATE, insurance).
  • Develop and implement effective case strategies, representing clients at hearings or instructing counsel as appropriate.
  • Conduct risk assessments, monitor case profitability, and ensure timely recovery and settlement of funds.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and firm requirements.
  • Act as the main client contact, providing empathetic support, particularly to vulnerable clients.
  • (Senior level) Supervise colleagues, conduct file reviews, and contribute to training and best-practice initiatives.
  • Support business development through networking and departmental projects.

Person Specification

  • Solicitor, Legal Executive, or experienced Fee Earner with proven experience in personal injury and/or CICA work.
  • Advocacy or tribunal experience desirable but not essential.
  • Senior applicants: 3–5+ years’ PQE with supervisory experience.
  • Junior/mid-level applicants: 0–3 years’ PQE or equivalent experience with strong ambition to progress.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong client-care focus, particularly when dealing with sensitive matters.
  • Organised, proactive, and confident working independently or collaboratively.
  • Familiar with compliance, billing, and case management systems.
