Puro Associates are working with a leading supplier of building materials & waste management in Yorkshire & the Northeast. They are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their growing team.

Responsibilities of a Finance Manager:

  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including customer invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and banking
  • Management of a small bookkeeping/ledger team, providing strong support and guidance to ensure they are appropriately motivated and driven to carry out their responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Timely preparation of detailed accurate information on financial performance including profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Work together with the Financial Director to develop and implement systems, processes and controls across the business that improve financial compliance and efficiencies in reporting and allow for the provision of financial and non-financial KPI’s to management
  • Profit and loss analysis, tracking spend and carrying out variance analysis against budgets, identifying opportunity for cost savings
  • Overall responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, including maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS returns
  • Support the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
  • Various ad hoc/project work and analysis

What we are looking for in our ideal Finance Manager:

  • Full driving licence
  • Accounting qualification
  • Previous experience in accounting
  • Local geographical knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of IT
  • Great inter-personal skills
  • Self-Motivated with the ability to work without supervision
  • Strong organisational, administrative and planning skills
  • Discretion and Ability to handle confidential information
