About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Disrepair Team Leader to join a growing litigation team based in Liverpool.
This role is ideal for an experienced Housing Disrepair Fee Earner or Solicitor with previous supervisory experience who is looking to take the next step into a leadership position. You'll combine managing your own caseload with overseeing a team of fee earners, ensuring high standards of client service, performance, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team handling pre- and post-litigated Housing Disrepair matters.
  • Manage your own caseload from instruction through to settlement or trial.
  • Allocate workloads across the team to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Mentor and develop junior fee earners, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review files to maintain high technical and client care standards.
  • Negotiate settlements and liaise with clients, experts, counsel, and third parties.
  • Monitor team performance against targets and service standards.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training where required.
  • Contribute to departmental growth and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Previous experience managing Housing Disrepair claims is essential.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Housing Conditions litigation and the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Confident managing litigated and pre-litigated matters independently.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and client care abilities.
  • Target-driven with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Able to prioritise a busy workload while maintaining high-quality service.
