Housing Disrepair Team Leader
Location: Manchester or Liverpool (Hybrid Working Available)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Disrepair Team Leader to join a well-established and growing specialist litigation firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor, Fee Earner or Team Leader looking to combine fee earning with leadership responsibilities in a supportive and ambitious environment.
You will oversee a team of Fee Earners and Paralegals while maintaining your own caseload, helping to drive performance, deliver exceptional client care and contribute to the continued growth of the department.
The Role
You will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and supervision to your team, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and client service standards remain consistently high. Alongside management responsibilities, you will continue to handle your own housing disrepair caseload and work closely with senior management to improve processes and departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Housing Disrepair Fee Earners and Paralegals.
- Manage your own caseload of pre and post-litigation Housing Disrepair matters.
- Allocate workloads effectively to ensure service levels and deadlines are achieved.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, probation reviews and performance discussions.
- Coach and mentor team members to support their professional development.
- Audit files, monitor quality standards and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Identify training needs and support continuous improvement across the department.
- Work collaboratively with senior management to improve processes and drive business performance.
- Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure excellent client outcomes.
- Keep up to date with developments in Housing Disrepair legislation and litigation procedures.
About You
- Minimum of 2 years' litigation experience.
- Previous Housing Disrepair experience is highly desirable.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or managing legal staff.
- Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and Housing Disrepair litigation.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using case management systems (Proclaim desirable) and Microsoft Office.
- Commercially minded with a proactive and positive approach.
