Civil / Commercial Litigation Solicitor (Up to 6 PQE)
Location: Burnley
Contract Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE) + Benefits
A growing and dynamic law firm is seeking a Civil / Commercial Litigation Solicitor (up to 6 years’ PQE) to join its expanding litigation team in Burnley.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of your own caseload while working alongside experienced senior lawyers on complex and high-value disputes. The role offers genuine responsibility, strong support, and clear career progression within a collaborative environment.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, providing high-quality legal advice and delivering excellent client care from instruction through to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters independently
- Advising clients on dispute strategy, risk, and costs
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and court documents
- Conducting legal research and preparing cases for hearings and trial
- Attending court, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Contributing to business development and networking activities
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal procedures

- Continuing Healthcare fee disputes
Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
- Up to 6 years’ PQE in civil and/or commercial litigation
- Experience managing your own caseload
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Good commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and client-care skills
Desirable:
- Experience in complex or high-value litigation
- Business development experience
- Supervisory or mentoring experience
