Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to build your career within an established accountancy practice? An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeping Assistant to join a highly regarded and supportive firm based in Chichester on a part-time basis.
This is an ideal role for someone with previous bookkeeping experience or an individual looking to further develop their skills within a professional practice environment. You will become part of a friendly team, supporting a varied portfolio of clients while working with modern cloud-based accounting software.

Bookkeeping Assistant Responsibilities
- Processing high volumes of client financial documentation accurately and efficiently
- Matching, batching and coding purchase and sales documentation
- Processing bookkeeping records using Sage and other cloud-based accounting software
- Ensuring accurate VAT treatment across client records
- Processing client expenses
- Posting and reconciling bank transactions
- Assisting with general bookkeeping duties for a varied client portfolio
- Supporting the wider bookkeeping team to meet client deadlines
- Providing excellent client service while maintaining high levels of accuracy
Bookkeeping Assistant Requirements
- Previous bookkeeping or finance administration experience is advantageous
- Experience working within an accountancy practice would be beneficial
- Familiarity with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or Dext is desirable
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
