Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to build your career within an established accountancy practice? An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeping Assistant to join a highly regarded and supportive firm based in Chichester on a part-time basis.
This is an ideal role for someone with previous bookkeeping experience or an individual looking to further develop their skills within a professional practice environment. You will become part of a friendly team, supporting a varied portfolio of clients while working with modern cloud-based accounting software.

Bookkeeping Assistant Responsibilities

  • Processing high volumes of client financial documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Matching, batching and coding purchase and sales documentation
  • Processing bookkeeping records using Sage and other cloud-based accounting software
  • Ensuring accurate VAT treatment across client records
  • Processing client expenses
  • Posting and reconciling bank transactions
  • Assisting with general bookkeeping duties for a varied client portfolio
  • Supporting the wider bookkeeping team to meet client deadlines
  • Providing excellent client service while maintaining high levels of accuracy

Bookkeeping Assistant Requirements

  • Previous bookkeeping or finance administration experience is advantageous
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or Dext is desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
