THE ROLE
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Administrator to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Newcastle.
This role would suit someone looking to build a career in payroll, with full training provided. Previous payroll experience is not essential, although experience within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice would be advantageous.
You will be responsible for processing payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent client service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing end-to-end payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients, including HMRC submissions
- Reviewing your own work before senior-level sign-off and client delivery
- Maintaining pension data and completing relevant declarations
- Calculating pension deductions and managing auto-enrolment requirements
- Ensuring all payroll data is accurate and delivered to a high standard
- Liaising with clients and providing support on payroll and auto-enrolment queries
- Working to strict deadlines and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
- A professional, positive and approachable manner
- The ability to learn quickly and follow detailed processes
- Previous payroll or payroll bureau experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Experience with STAR Payroll would be beneficial, although full training will be provided
