The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in a small to medium-sized practice and be eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm. Key Responsibilities for the Practice Accountant:
- Preparation of financial statements for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries.
- Managing client relationships.
- Preparation and submission of tax returns.
- Assisting with audits, including managing assignments from planning through to completion.
- Providing guidance and support to junior staff, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
- Liaising with clients on a regular basis to offer proactive advice and ensure their needs are met.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations.
Requirements for the Practice Accountant:
- Part or fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or CPA.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a small to medium-sized practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
Desirable Skills for the Practice Accountant:
- Experience with audit and assurance services.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks
- Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of the team.
