The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an organised and compassionate Private Client Solicitor to join the firm’s Private Client team. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate, and Estate Administration, who is confident managing matters independently while delivering excellent client care.

The position is client-facing and requires professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when dealing with clients during often difficult circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing probate and estate administration matters from instruction through to completion
  • Advising clients on wills, estate planning, and succession matters
  • Drafting and reviewing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Preparing and submitting probate applications and related documentation
  • Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, HMCTS, HMRC, and financial institutions
  • Drafting correspondence, schedules of assets and liabilities, and estate accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with deadlines, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures
  • Maintaining accurate file management and case records
  • Providing clear, empathetic, and professional client communication
  • Supporting business development and contributing to team and firm objectives

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in private client work, including wills, probate, and estate administration
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident managing multiple matters simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sensitively with clients
  • Able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
