Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
Location: Central London (Office-based, hybrid may be considered)

About the RoleAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Public Law Children / Care Solicitor to join a busy and well-regarded Family Law department within a long-established law firm.
This is a high-volume, fast-paced legal aid role focused on representing parents and vulnerable clients involved in care proceedings. The department has a strong reputation in the field and is known for its commitment to access to justice.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of Public Law Children matters including:
  • Care Proceedings
  • Public Law Outline (PLO) cases
  • Special Guardianship Orders
• Advising and representing clients funded through legal aid
• Court attendance and advocacy (desirable but not essential)
• Working closely with vulnerable clients often facing complex and sensitive circumstances
• Managing files in line with legal aid and compliance requirements

Requirements

• Experience in Public Law Children / Care work
• Strong understanding of legal aid work
• Accreditation is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to client care
• Advocacy experience is beneficial but not essential
