Accountant – ACA/ACCA (Qualified or Part Qualified)

Puro Associates is currently recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking accountancy firm seeking an Accountant to join their team based in Bradford on Avon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual with practice experience to lead on client accounts, oversee team workflow, and help drive continued success. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the timely and compliant delivery of accounts and tax returns, developing strong client relationships, and supporting the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accounts, tax returns (personal, partnership, and corporate), and VAT returns for a diverse client portfolio.
- Manage workflow and resource allocation to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for a designated client portfolio—building trusted relationships and identifying opportunities to meet additional client needs.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate team members to ensure work is delivered accurately and on time.
- Monitor job progress and profitability, identifying issues early to maintain commercial efficiency.
- Lead billing and debtor collection processes in a timely manner.
- Recommend and implement improvements to systems and internal controls.
- Support the Director with ad hoc project work as required.
Candidate Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified.
- Proven experience in an accountancy practice, ideally in a compliance-focused role.
- Strong working knowledge of current tax and accounting legislation.
- Proficiency in cloud accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
