Puro Associates are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Stockton-on-Tees who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant / Client Manager to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing a varied portfolio and playing a key role within a supportive and collaborative team. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of owner-managed businesses, providing both technical expertise and proactive advice.
The Role
As a Senior Accountant / Client Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service while supporting the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a range of businesses
- Reviewing VAT returns and management accounts
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for client queries
- Providing proactive accounting and business advice
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
About You
We're looking for someone with previous experience working within an accountancy practice who enjoys taking ownership of their client portfolio.
You'll ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing accounts within practice
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Experience supporting junior team members
