Senior Accountant
Location: Hereford
Salary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience)
A growing accountancy practice based in Hereford is currently seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the future development of the firm.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients while supporting the day-to-day running of the practice. This position offers genuine progression opportunities, with the expectation that the individual will take on increasing responsibility and contribute to the strategic direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing a team of junior staff
- Reviewing work and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and deadlines
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building strong professional relationships
- Supporting the directors and stepping in to manage operations in their absence
- Identifying opportunities for business development and process improvement
The Ideal Candidate:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation
- Demonstrable experience in supervising or managing a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive and forward-thinking mindset
- Ambitious and keen to progress into a leadership role in the future
