The Opportunity
A highly regarded accountancy and business advisory firm is looking for a Senior Business Adviser to join its expanding team in Coventry.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant or finance professional who wants to move beyond traditional reporting and compliance work into a role focused on commercial advice, strategy, and helping business owners achieve better results.
Working with a portfolio of successful SME and owner-managed businesses, you will become a trusted adviser to directors, helping them understand performance, identify opportunities, and make confident decisions about the future of their businesses.
The RoleAs Senior Business Adviser, you will:
- Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of SME clients
- Act as a trusted point of contact for business owners and directors
- Review financial performance and provide clear commercial recommendations
- Help clients improve profitability, cash flow, and long-term business value
- Support strategic decisions around growth, investment, and business improvement
- Lead client meetings and provide practical, actionable advice
- Work alongside specialist teams to deliver a high-value advisory service
About YouThis role would suit someone who is ready to use their financial expertise in a more commercial and relationship-focused environment.
You may currently be:
- A Senior Accountant, Client Manager, or Accounts Manager looking to move away from compliance-heavy work
- A Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager, or Financial Controller wanting broader exposure and more influence
You will ideally have:
- Experience working with SMEs or owner-managed businesses
- Strong understanding of profitability, cash flow, and business performance
- Confidence communicating with directors and business owners
- The ability to interpret financial information and turn it into meaningful advice
ACA/ACCA qualification is desirable, but the right commercial mindset and communication skills are equally important.
