Supervising Family Law SolicitorSalary: £60,000 – £80,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Hybrid – Reading
Office Days: Monday & Tuesday
Role OverviewThis role involves managing a varied caseload of family law matters while supervising and supporting junior team members. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality legal services, particularly in legally aided matters, while ensuring strong client care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality client care to vulnerable individuals and families
- Manage a caseload including non-molestation orders, Child Arrangements Orders, divorce, and private children matters
- Prepare legal documentation such as court applications, witness statements, bundles, and briefs for counsel
- Manage files efficiently using the Leap case management system
- Attend client meetings, conferences, and liaise with counsel
- Advise clients and progress cases with courts and relevant professionals
- Manage Legal Aid applications via CCMS, ensuring compliance
- Meet or exceed billing targets and contribute to financial performance
- Supervise and support paralegals and administrative staff
- Adapt to additional responsibilities in line with business needs
Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor with appropriate supervisory accreditation
- Experience working with Legal Aid and CCMS
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach
- Confident using IT systems and legal software
- Excellent drafting, communication, and client care skills
