Salary: Up to £42,000 DOE

The Role:

  • Preparation and submission of year-end accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
  • Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns and CIS submissions
  • Supporting clients with advisory matters including cashflow, budgeting and business performance
  • Conducting year-end meetings and delivering excellent client service
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients and supporting their transition into the practice
  • Liaising with HMRC and Companies House to resolve queries and maintain compliance
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Carrying out client fee reviews and supporting wider business growth
  • Providing bookkeeping and software training to clients where required

Requirements:

  • AAT / ATT / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a UK Accountancy Practice
  • Experience preparing accounts and tax returns to review stage
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and general tax compliance
  • Experience using cloud software including Xero, QuickBooks, Dext and FreeAgent
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
