About the Role
We are a growing, client-focused accountancy practice based in Sheffield, looking for an experienced Semi/ Senior Accountant to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who can hit the ground running, manage their own portfolio of clients, and become a key part of our firm's continued growth. You'll work closely with a diverse client base, providing high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services while helping to develop junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage your own portfolio of client relationships, delivering a high level of service
  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Prepare and submit Corporation Tax Returns (CT600)
  • Prepare and file Self-Assessment Tax Returns
  • Complete and submit VAT returns across a range of VAT schemes
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients
  • Maintain and review bookkeeping records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Manage HMRC online portals, correspondence, and client queries
  • Complete Companies House filings and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, explain financial results, and provide practical business advice
  • Mentor and support junior team members, including the Assistant Accountant and Office Administrator
  • Attend client meetings where required
  • Identify opportunities to add value for clients and contribute to the continued growth of the practice

About You
We're looking for someone who is:

  • AAT qualified, ACA/ ACCA qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
  • Has a minimum of 3 years' recent UK accountancy practice experience
  • Confident managing a portfolio of clients independently
  • Experienced in preparing statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients and providing practical advice
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage deadlines effectively
  • A team player with the ability to mentor junior colleagues
