Job Opportunity: Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper

My client, a well-established and growing general accountancy practice based in Cork City Centre, is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide bookkeeping services to a portfolio of SME clients across a range of industries
- Prepare VAT returns and perform bank reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing (an advantage, but not essential)
- Support the preparation of management and year-end accounts
- Communicate effectively with clients to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships
- Carry out general administrative and financial tasks as required by senior team members
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a similar accounts assistant or bookkeeping role
- Previous experience within a practice environment is desirable
- Proficient in the use of accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar packages
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
