Description
This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified bookkeeper, accounts assistant, or tax technician with strong technological skills and exceptional attention to detail. The position is within a small but growing accountancy firm, offering flexibility for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the Manager in various accountancy tasks and administrative workstreams, including:
- Bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and invoice processing
- Operation of payroll and Revenue Online Service (ROS) filings
- Monitoring debtors and arrears
- Bank reconciliations and payments
- Preparation and filing of VAT reports
- Preparation and filing of income tax returns
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders and rental properties
- Identifying and implementing process improvements for clients, including transitioning to cloud-based accounting software
- Assisting with the implementation of new accounting tools for clients
- Performing other ad-hoc office and administrative duties
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- Qualification as an Accountant, Bookkeeper, Accounts Technician, or Tax Technician
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with small and medium-sized business clients
- Payroll experience
- Strong technological skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- ROS filings experience
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Strong Excel skills
- Familiarity with software such as Sage, SAGE Micropay, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar (desirable)
- Experience with income tax computations and returns
