Accounts Manager
Location - Henley on Thames
Puro Associates is pleased to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Manager to join an innovative and growing accountancy firm. Specialising in providing personalised accountancy and tax services to a diverse client base, including SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, and large multinational corporations, our client is looking for a talented Accounts Manager to take on a key role within their team.
As Accounts Manager, you will oversee a varied client portfolio, provide expert advice on accounting and tax matters, and play a central role in client relationship management and team development. Key Responsibilities:
- As an Accounts Manager you you manage a portfolio of clients, reviewing and preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders, ready for senior management or Partner review.
- Review and manage corporation tax computations and returns.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly VAT returns, covering various VAT schemes.
- Review and prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts to a high standard.
- Support new client onboarding and assist in the ongoing management of client relationships.
- Liaise with clients to address technical queries, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs and delivering effective solutions.
- Take responsibility for mentoring junior team members and helping manage team workflows.
- Ensure excellent client service and satisfaction.
- Provide ad-hoc support to Partners as needed.
Skills & Experience Required:
- ACA/ACCA qualified, with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience.
- A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience working in a practice environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as CCH, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Alphatax (experience in these systems is a plus, but not essential).
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships and understand their specific requirements.
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to demonstrate excellent client-facing skills.
- Exceptional organisational abilities, with the capacity to multi-task and work under pressure.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong team player with a collaborative approach and a solid work ethic.
- Able to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
