A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Dunfermline is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Semi Senior. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Semi Senior who wants to develop technical skills, gain exposure to a varied client portfolio, and progress their career within a supportive and professional environment.
The firm is seeking an Accounts Semi Senior with solid practice experience, confident working with owner-managed businesses. The Accounts Semi Senior will play a key role in the accounts team, supporting managers and partners while maintaining strong client relationships. This role would suit someone studying towards ACCA or CA (or equivalent), though this is not essential.
Responsibilities – Accounts Semi Senior
- Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Produce management accounts and support month-end processes
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
- Assist with personal and corporate tax computations
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide day-to-day support
- Support junior staff through review work and informal mentoring
- Work closely with managers to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
Requirements – Accounts Semi Senior
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and VAT
- Confidence using accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
