THE ROLE
Are you an experienced Accounts Senior looking for your next move with a well-established accountancy practice?
We’re working with a highly reputable independent accountancy firm in North Shields who are looking to appoint a confident and well-rounded Accounts Senior to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong practice background who can hit the ground running and is looking for genuine long-term progression.
You’ll work across accounts, tax and bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients, gaining broad exposure and the opportunity to take on more responsibility as you develop.
The ideal candidate will have a solid track record with reputable accountancy firms, strong practical experience and previous experience using both Sage and Xero.
You’ll be responsible for a varied practice workload, including:
- Preparing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Preparing personal and corporate tax returns
- Completing bookkeeping for a range of clients
- Managing your own portfolio and maintaining strong client relationships
- Using Sage and Xero across accounts and bookkeeping work
- Dealing with client queries and providing general accounting support
- Working to deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately
- Taking on additional responsibility as your experience develops
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a well-rounded practice accountant who can come in and make an immediate impact.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- A strong track record with reputable accountancy firms
- Solid experience preparing annual accounts
- Experience across personal and corporate tax
- Previous bookkeeping experience
- Strong practical knowledge of Sage and Xero
- The ability to manage your own workload and work with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to hit the ground running
- The ambition to progress and develop within a growing practice
Relevant qualifications such as AAT, ACA or ACCA would be advantageous, but strong practical experience and a proven practice background are key.
