Accounts Supervisor – Accountancy Practice

Location: Edinburgh
Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid available upon completion of probation
Salary: £45,000-£60,000 DOE

Puro Associates are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing independent accountancy practice in Edinburgh who are looking to appoint an Accounts Supervisor.
This is a great opportunity for a nearly or newly qualified accountant with solid practice experience to take ownership of a portfolio, build strong client relationships and support the development of junior team members.

The Role

  • Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders
  • Prepare management accounts and supporting schedules
  • Complete personal and corporation tax computations
  • Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback
  • Support and supervise trainees and assist with their development
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, providing a proactive and personable service
  • Liaise with HMRC and clients on accounting and tax matters
  • Assist with ad hoc client work and wider departmental projects
  • Keep up to date with relevant accounting and tax legislation


About You

  • Nearly or newly qualified ACCA / ICAS / ACA
  • At least 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Good knowledge of FRS 102 / FRS 102 1A
  • Confident dealing directly with clients and managing your own portfolio
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Able to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
  • Good IT skills and a willingness to develop your technical knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
