Accounts Supervisor – Accountancy Practice
Location: Edinburgh
Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid available upon completion of probation
Salary: £45,000-£60,000 DOE
Puro Associates are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing independent accountancy practice in Edinburgh who are looking to appoint an Accounts Supervisor.
This is a great opportunity for a nearly or newly qualified accountant with solid practice experience to take ownership of a portfolio, build strong client relationships and support the development of junior team members.

The Role
- Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
- Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders
- Prepare management accounts and supporting schedules
- Complete personal and corporation tax computations
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback
- Support and supervise trainees and assist with their development
- Maintain regular contact with clients, providing a proactive and personable service
- Liaise with HMRC and clients on accounting and tax matters
- Assist with ad hoc client work and wider departmental projects
- Keep up to date with relevant accounting and tax legislation
About You
- Nearly or newly qualified ACCA / ICAS / ACA
- At least 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Good knowledge of FRS 102 / FRS 102 1A
- Confident dealing directly with clients and managing your own portfolio
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Able to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
- Good IT skills and a willingness to develop your technical knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
