Assistant Accountant – Accountancy Practice
Location: Swanley, Kent
Salary: £28,000+ depending on experience
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established small private accountancy practice based in Swanley, Kent, who are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and personable accounts professional who already has at least 1 year of experience working within an accountancy practice and is looking for the next step in their career.
The RoleWorking as part of a small and friendly team, you will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients and be involved in a broad range of accounting duties, including:
- Accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Bookkeeping and reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Self-assessment and corporation tax work
- Processing and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with client queries and day-to-day accounting requirements
- Supporting senior members of the team
- General practice and administrative duties as required
About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:
- At least 1 year's experience within an accountancy practice
- Previous experience preparing accounts and/or undertaking bookkeeping
- A good understanding of UK accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
- A genuine desire to develop and progress within practice
AAT qualification or studies towards an accounting qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
