Suffolk Tax Accountants Group is looking for a Tax Senior / Assistant Tax Manager to join our friendly and experienced tax team, working closely with Tax Partner.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ATT qualified or QBE tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, wants to broaden their technical knowledge and is ready to take on greater responsibility within practice.
You’ll manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, alongside a selection of unincorporated business returns, while providing high-quality compliance and advisory support.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing and reviewing personal and partnership tax returns
  • Managing a portfolio of clients and developing strong, long-term relationships
  • Providing tax planning and advisory support across a diverse client base
  • Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team and supporting their development
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and ensuring compliance
  • Working closely with the Tax Partner and wider partner team
  • Preparing trust tax returns where you have the relevant experience — desirable, but not essential

What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who is technically capable, commercially minded and enjoys working with clients.
Ideally, you will have:

  • ATT qualification or equivalent QBE experience
  • Previous experience working in a tax role within an accountancy practice
  • Strong personal tax compliance experience
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • A proactive approach with a genuine interest in developing your career
  • The confidence to take ownership of your work and build trusted client relationship
