Location: Dunfermline
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 DOE

About the RoleAs an Audit Assistant Manager, you’ll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients across sectors including technology, healthcare, construction, manufacturing and charities.
You’ll work closely with Audit Managers and Partners while taking ownership of your own assignments and supporting the development of more junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of audit clients, including SMEs, owner-managed businesses and group entities
  • Planning, coordinating and leading audits with minimal supervision
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing constructive feedback
  • Supporting Managers and Partners throughout the audit process
  • Building strong relationships with clients and developing an understanding of their business and industry
  • Identifying control weaknesses and making practical recommendations to clients
  • Coaching and developing junior members of the team
  • Managing your own workload and ensuring assignments are completed within budget and agreed deadlines
  • Preparing and reviewing audit completion documentation
  • Preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations
  • Resolving technical and audit queries where appropriate

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified or equivalent
  • Experienced within an audit environment, ideally with 3–4+ years’ experience and at least 1 year at supervisory level
  • Comfortable managing and reviewing the work of junior staff
  • Confident dealing directly with clients
  • Technically strong with good knowledge of audit and accounting
  • Well organised with strong time management skills
  • Able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team
  • A clear and confident communicator
  • Keen to continue developing their career within a progressive practice
