About the Firm
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Cork, providing a full range of audit, accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of SME and owner-managed businesses. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior to join their expanding team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to further develop their technical skills and gain strong exposure across both audit and accounts preparation in a supportive and professional environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior staff and partners while managing a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of audits for a range of clients
- Preparing statutory financial statements for limited companies and sole traders
- Working on assignments from initial fieldwork through to completion
- Maintaining and working with traditional paper-based audit files
- Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries
- Assisting with corporation tax computations and returns
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
- Supporting senior team members on larger assignments
Requirements
- Part-qualified ACA / ACCA (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a practice environment is essential
- Strong audit and accounts preparation experience
- Comfortable working in a paper file-based practice (non-paperless environment)
- Good knowledge of Irish GAAP and auditing standards
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
