About the Role:

A growing and well-established accountancy practice in Shrewsbury is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead audit assignments, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. This is a client-facing role with significant responsibility and scope for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery
• Plan, lead, and review audit assignments from start to finish
• Act as the main client contact throughout the audit process, attending meetings pre- and post-audit
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of audit seniors and trainees
• Liaise with partners on technical matters, deadlines, and client needs
• Identify opportunities to add value and support business development
• Ensure compliance with auditing standards, ethical requirements, and internal procedures
• Deliver assigned KPIs as agreed with the Audit Manager

Requirements:

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar audit role within an accountancy practice
• Proven ability to manage audits and client relationships effectively
• Strong technical audit knowledge and attention to detail
• Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload
• Experience supervising and developing junior team members
• Takes ownership of personal training and development
