About the Role:
A growing and well-established accountancy practice in Shrewsbury is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead audit assignments, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. This is a client-facing role with significant responsibility and scope for professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Plan, lead, and review audit assignments from start to finish
- Act as the main client contact throughout the audit process, attending meetings pre- and post-audit
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of audit seniors and trainees
- Liaise with partners on technical matters, deadlines, and client needs
- Identify opportunities to add value and support business development
- Ensure compliance with auditing standards, ethical requirements, and internal procedures
- Deliver assigned KPIs as agreed with the Audit Manager
Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Minimum three years’ experience in a similar audit role within an accountancy practice
- Proven ability to manage audits and client relationships effectively
- Strong technical audit knowledge and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload
- Experience supervising and developing junior team members
- Takes ownership of personal training and development
