About the Firm
Our client is a well-established medium-sized accountancy and advisory practice based in Cork. The firm provides audit, tax, advisory and business services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, family enterprises and not-for-profit organisations across a range of sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their expanding team.
The Role
As an Audit Senior, you will play a key role in managing audit assignments from planning through to completion. You will work closely with managers and partners while leading junior team members on-site and ensuring delivery of high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit assignments for a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries
- Plan, coordinate and complete audits in line with relevant accounting and auditing standards
- Prepare and review financial statements under FRS 102 and IFRS where applicable
- Liaise directly with clients, developing strong professional relationships
- Supervise, mentor and support junior members of the audit team
- Review working papers and ensure completion of assignments within agreed timelines and budgets
- Identify risk areas and recommend practical solutions to clients
- Assist managers and partners with statutory accounts preparation, corporation tax matters and ad hoc advisory projects
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements and professional standards
- Contribute to process improvements and support the continued growth of the audit department
Candidate Requirements
- ACA, ACCA or CPA qualified
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in external audit within a practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of Irish GAAP, FRS 102 and auditing standards
- Experience working with SMEs, owner-managed businesses and group entities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Proficient in accounting and audit software
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Full working rights in Ireland
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Caseware, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar systems
- Exposure to sectors such as construction, manufacturing, retail, hospitality or not-for-profit
- Experience preparing management accounts or assisting with advisory projects
