Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating financial records, including ledgers and journals
- Processing invoices, payments, and expense claims
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Performing regular bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Assisting with payroll processing (if required)
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications (Desirable)
- AAT qualification or equivalent (or working towards)
- Relevant finance or accounting certification
