Puro Associates are pleased to be working with a leading accountancy practice who are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in Leicester. The practice provides a wide range of accounting services to clients in various industries and are looking for a bookkeeper who can manage a portfolio of clients with accuracy and attention to detail, using double entry bookkeeping.

Responsibilities as a Bookkeeper:
- Sales and purchase invoice entry
- Recording and reconciliation of bank/cash/credit card/paypal transactions
- Preparation and/or review of CIS submissions
- Assist clients with any bookkeeping related queries
- Liaise with HMRC as necessary to reconcile VAT/PAYE control accounts
- Posting month end journals such as payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns including VAT schemes
Requirements of the Bookkeeper:
- A minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software, such as Xero or QuickBooks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
