Bookkeeper - Accountancy Practice
Location: Near Richmond
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking to join a friendly and established accountancy practice? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected firm based near Richmond that is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to become a valued member of their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive practice environment, managing a varied portfolio of clients across multiple industries while developing your skills and career.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients.
- Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, and journals.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures.
- Liaising with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries.
- Using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Supporting accountants with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- AAT qualification or equivalent would be advantageous but is not essential.
