Residential Property Lawyer / Conveyancer

Due to continued growth, a well-established law firm is seeking a Residential Property Lawyer / Conveyancer to join its expanding team based in Cheadle Hulme
.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced conveyancer who enjoys managing a full caseload while also supervising and developing a team, within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

The Role

You will manage a traditional residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and support of a team within the department.

This is a fully office-based role, reflecting the leadership and oversight responsibilities required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion
  • Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Dealing with bridging finance transactions and related matters
  • Supervising, mentoring, and supporting conveyancing assistants and junior fee earners
  • Delivering consistently high standards of client care and communication
  • Meeting individual and team billing, financial, and performance targets
  • Managing files in line with firm procedures, compliance requirements, and SLAs
  • Overseeing financial aspects of files, including billing and cash recovery
  • Supporting business development, including conversion of enquiries and cross-selling services
  • Maintaining accurate records and effective use of case management systems
  • Ensuring ongoing professional development for yourself and your team

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Legal Executive
  • Strong experience in residential conveyancing (traditional caseload)
  • Experience handling bridging finance matters is essential
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff (preferred)
  • Strong client-care and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to work to targets
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and professional approach
