A well-established criminal defence firm is seeking a Criminal Defence Solicitor to join its growing team based in Dewsbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to further develop their criminal defence career while working closely alongside an experienced Senior Associate within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role
You will assist with and manage a varied criminal defence caseload, providing high-quality legal representation and advice across a range of criminal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and assisting with a broad criminal defence caseload
• Representing clients at police stations and Magistrates’ Courts
• Preparing legal documentation and case files
• Advising clients throughout criminal proceedings
• Liaising with courts, counsel, clients, and third parties
• Supporting senior team members on more complex matters
• Delivering excellent client care in sensitive and high-pressure situations
• Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with experience in criminal defence work
• Duty Solicitor accreditation preferred but not essential
• Strong communication and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage workload effectively under pressure
• Excellent organisational and client-care skills
• Team-oriented with a proactive and professional approach
• Interest in developing within criminal defence litigation
