Crown Court Fee Earner / Case Worker – Criminal Defence
Location: Liverpool, (Flexible Office Base)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

The Role:

• Running your own Crown Court caseload on a day-to-day basis
• Preparing case files, bundles and legal documentation
• Liaising with clients, counsel, courts and third parties
• Ensuring compliance with legal aid and regulatory requirements
• Supporting case preparation for hearings and trials
• Maintaining accurate file management and case records
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the team

About You

• Experience working within a criminal law environment
• Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proactive, team-oriented and client-focused approach
• Competent using case management systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable

• Experience handling serious or complex Crown Court matters
• Knowledge of legal aid processes and funding applications
• Additional qualifications (e.g. Duty Solicitor status or CLAS accreditation)
