Family Solicitor
Up to £65,000
East London

A dynamic and client-focused law firm in East London is seeking an experienced and motivated Family Solicitor to join their growing Family Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional to manage a varied caseload and contribute to the development of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a mixed caseload of privately funded and Legal Aid family matters.
  • Conduct advocacy where appropriate.
  • Handle matters including, but not limited to:
    • Divorce and financial remedy proceedings
    • Private children matters
    • Public law children proceedings
    • Domestic abuse and injunction applications
    • Care proceedings
    • Cohabitation and TOLATA disputes
  • Draft pleadings, statements, and court applications.
  • Advise clients clearly and sensitively.
  • Conduct client meetings and consultations.
  • Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements (where applicable).
  • Meet departmental billing and performance targets.
  • Maintain high standards of file management and regulatory compliance.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ PQE in Family Law.
  • Experience handling both private and Legal Aid matters.
  • Strong working knowledge of Children Act proceedings, Family Procedure Rules, and Legal Aid Agency processes.
  • Ability to manage own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent drafting and advocacy skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Client-focused with a professional and empathetic approach.
