The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to step into a Head of Private Client position, leading and developing a well-established department.
This is a key leadership role, combining hands-on fee earning with strategic oversight, team management and departmental growth. You will play a central role in shaping the future of the Private Client offering while maintaining a high standard of client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the Private Client team
- Oversee and manage a caseload of complex wills, probate and estate administration matters
- Provide expert advice on estate planning, succession and tax considerations
- Supervise and support junior team members, including mentoring and performance management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice
- Drive departmental growth, including business development and networking
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts
- Contribute to the firm’s wider strategy and leadership initiatives
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in private client work
- Proven ability to manage and develop a team
- Strong technical expertise in wills, probate, estate administration and succession planning
- Commercially aware with a track record of business development
- Excellent leadership, communication and client care skills
- Organised, proactive and confident managing both people and caseloads
