Housing Disrepair Solicitor
Location: Manchester or Liverpool (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £45,000+ DOE + Bonus
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join a well-established and growing litigation team. The Role
You will manage your own caseload of pre and post-litigation Housing Disrepair claims from instruction through to conclusion, acting on behalf of tenants and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently while maintaining exceptional standards of client care.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of pre and post-litigation Housing Disrepair claims.
- Handle claims brought under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and other relevant legislation.
- Ensure compliance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims.
- Draft Letters of Claim and Court Proceedings.
- Review housing records and assess liability.
- Review and consider surveyors' reports.
- Prepare and quantify special damages.
- Negotiate settlements and attend mediations where appropriate.
- Liaise with Counsel, experts and third parties.
- Maintain accurate case records using a case management system.
- Deliver excellent client care and keep clients informed throughout their claim.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with experience in Housing Disrepair litigation.
- Able to independently manage a litigated caseload from inception to conclusion.
- Strong knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Act and Housing Disrepair litigation.
- Experience using a legal case management system (Proclaim experience advantageous).
- Ability to bill work at Grade B or above.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
- Able to prioritise a busy workload while maintaining exceptional client care.
- Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.
