Housing Solicitor / Caseworker
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience and knowledge of Housing Law)
Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week
About the RoleAn experienced Solicitor or Caseworker is sought to join a well-established and highly regarded Housing Legal Aid team. The firm has a longstanding reputation for excellence in housing law and has been involved in a number of significant appellate cases.
The team advises and represents clients in a broad range of housing matters, including homelessness, disrepair, possession proceedings, injunctions, unlawful eviction claims, leasehold disputes, rent repayment matters, and housing-related judicial review proceedings.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload involving:
- Homelessness applications and appeals
- Possession proceedings
- Injunction and committal proceedings
- Housing disrepair claims
- Unlawful eviction matters
- Leaseholder disputes
- Accurate time recording
- Managing files in compliance with regulatory and quality standards
Key Requirements
- Experience handling a broad range of housing law matters
- Strong understanding of the legal aid system and commitment to access to justice
- Ability to work empathetically with vulnerable clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
