About the Firm
Our client is a well-established medium-sized accountancy and advisory practice based in Cork. The firm provides audit, tax, advisory and business services to a broad range of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, high-net-worth individuals, family-run companies and professional clients.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Income Tax Senior to join their tax team.
The Role
As an Income Tax Senior, you will manage a portfolio of personal and business tax clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations while delivering a high standard of client service. You will work closely with partners and managers on both compliance and advisory assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax and self-assessment clients
  • Prepare and review income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, directors and high-net-worth clients
  • Prepare and review Form 11 and Form 12 tax returns
  • Advise clients on income tax, capital gains tax, capital acquisitions tax and relevant reliefs
  • Ensure all tax filings and payments are completed accurately and on time
  • Liaise directly with clients, Revenue and other external parties as required
  • Support partners and managers on tax planning assignments and advisory projects
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide practical recommendations to clients
  • Assist clients with Revenue interventions, audits and compliance queries
  • Supervise and mentor junior tax staff members
  • Keep up to date with changes in Irish tax legislation and ensure compliance across the client portfolio

Candidate Requirements

  • CTA qualified or currently studying towards CTA, with ACA, ACCA or CPA also considered
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in tax within an accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish income tax, CGT and CAT
  • Experience managing a portfolio of tax clients
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience using tax software and Revenue Online Service (ROS)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
  • Full working rights in Ireland

Desirable Experience

  • Experience dealing with high-net-worth individuals and owner-managed businesses
  • Exposure to succession planning, retirement planning and share schemes
  • Experience with Revenue interventions and tax audits
  • Familiarity with systems such as ROS, Relate, Sage, Xero or similar software
