About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and client-focused Junior Accountant to join our growing team in Garforth, Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a modern accountancy practice that values exceptional client service, professional development, and flexible working.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of sole trader and CIS clients, supporting them with their accounting and tax requirements, and building strong long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of sole trader and CIS clients.
- Build strong relationships with clients through regular communication via phone, email, and video calls.
- Handle inbound and outbound client calls, providing support and resolving queries promptly.
- Prepare and review Self-Assessment tax returns accurately and efficiently.
- Support clients with accounting, tax, and general business-related queries.
- Help clients understand their financial position and tax obligations in a clear and straightforward manner.
- Assist clients in using accounting software and digital tools.
- Review financial information to ensure records are accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Identify opportunities for tax efficiencies and discuss incorporation options where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding client service.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Take ownership of client satisfaction, service delivery, and turnaround times.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident speaking with clients and building professional relationships.
- Strong customer service and client management skills.
- Good understanding of accounting principles.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as FreeAgent, Xero, or QuickBooks.
