Senior Legal Cashier – Team Supervisor

Salary: £45,000 + Benefits
Puro Associates are delighted to be supporting a prominent and well-established legal firm is looking to appoint a skilled Senior Legal Cashier to lead its finance processing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a firm known for its professional excellence and strong internal culture. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of the finance function, overseeing daily operations while ensuring all practices adhere to industry standards and internal protocols.
Responsibilities as a Legal Cashier will include:
- Leading and guiding a team of cashiers, ensuring efficient daily operations and a supportive team environment.
- Overseeing performance, providing coaching and support to help team members meet expectations and grow professionally.
- Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes that increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Developing, maintaining, and updating procedure manuals and workflow documentation to support consistency and compliance.
- Coordinating team tasks by managing workloads, scheduling shifts, and ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Acting as the main liaison for auditors, particularly around the preparation and facilitation of SAR audits.
- Ensuring strict compliance with legal accounting rules and internal financial regulations.
- Partnering with other departments to support wider business functions and contribute to cross-departmental projects.
- Daily cash management
- Processing bank transactions and client/office account movements
- Completing reconciliations
What we’re looking for in the Legal Cashier:
- Substantial experience working within a finance role in the legal sector, ideally in a cashiering or accounts capacity.
- Prior experience managing or supervising a team within a financial operations environment.
- Strong familiarity with legal accounting systems and high attention to financial detail.
- Sound understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks, including the SRA Accounts Rules and VAT legislation.
- Proficient in the use of legal case management software and confident with common office applications.
- Excellent time management, organisation, and multitasking capabilities.
- Strong communicator, able to work well across departments and maintain a professional approach.
- A team player with the drive to take ownership and contribute to continuous improvement.
