Litigation Solicitor (Property & Civil/Commercial Litigation)
Location: Kingston upon Thames
Working Pattern: Hybrid (Office & Home Working)
About the Role
An established and respected law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join its growing dispute resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded litigator looking to manage a varied caseload, work closely with clients, and play an integral role in the continued development of the litigation practice.
The successful candidate will handle a broad range of contentious matters, with approximately 50% of the caseload focused on Property Litigation and 50% on Civil & Commercial Litigation. This role offers genuine autonomy, responsibility from day one, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution.
- Advise clients on a broad range of contentious legal matters.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
- Take ownership of matters, ensuring files are progressed efficiently and commercially.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues while confidently managing matters independently.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the litigation department.
Caseload
Property Litigation (Approximately 50%)
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- Residential and commercial property disputes
- Enfranchisement matters
- Neighbour disputes
- Party wall disputes
- Easements, boundary and rights of way disputes
Civil & Commercial Litigation (Approximately 50%)
- Contract disputes
- Commercial disputes
- Professional negligence claims
- Company and partnership disputes
- Employment disputes
- General civil litigation matters
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Solicitor status (or equivalent legal qualification with relevant litigation experience).
- Experience managing a broad litigation caseload.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise competing demands.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude with the ambition to develop professionally and contribute to the growth of the team.
Experience using a legal case management system is advantageous, although training will be provided.
